Your main role as Spa Therapist will include:

General Assistant – Summer Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at the iconic Burgh Island Hotel. We are now looking for passionate people that would like to join the fantastic team to deliver an excellent and memorable experience to all of our guests.

This is a summer position working in Burgh Island Hotel and The Pilchard Inn. You would be required to work a minimum of 4 weeks between May and October 2023.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Take orders from guests for food or beverages, and using EPOS systems enter these accurately onto till prior to its service
  • Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Collect payments from customers.
  • Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Inform customers of daily specials
  • Be able to explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients, allergens and cooking methods.
  • To be aware of guest allergies
  • To advise guests with allergies of which dishes on the menu are and are not suitable for them
  • Describe and recommend wines to customers and promote any current promoting
  • Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses, and pour the wines for customers.
  • Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, take them to kitchen for cleaning. Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining.
  • Perform food preparation duties such as preparing buffets, preparing toast and brewing coffee.
