GUEST SATISFACTION

  • Encourage and further develop culture of providing a personalised service to each guest.
  • Ensure all guests needs are catered for, no matter the demographic. Ensure we have the specific services that every guest may need.

  • Promote more detailed / funnelled feedback from guests

 

BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant.
  • Analysing and planning restaurant service to ensure coherent and clear service style
  • Ensuring rotas are completed and live as per company standard
  • Ensuring that the team get a balanced work/life balance with rotas reflecting this ethos
  • Ensuring effective shift planning as per agreement with Line manager
  • Creating and executing plans for department sales, profit and staff development.
  • Preparation of purchase orders for required equipment
  • Planning and co-ordinating menus with the Exec chef and Functions manager
  • Liaise with Bar manager and Sommelier to ensure stock levels are correct with customer expectations

 

FRONT-OF-HOUSE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Co-ordinating the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
  • Managing staff and providing them with feedback.
  • Responding to customer complaints.
  • Ensuring that all employees adhere to the Company’s uniform standards.
  • Advising customers on menu and wine choice.
  • Recruiting, training and motivating staff.
  • Organising and supervising any area of the restaurant when circumstances dictate.
  • Visible head of operation to customers

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be constantly vigilant in respect of H+S issues and report risks
  • Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene and Health & Safety.
  • Organising cleaning rotas and records for bar and back of house areas.
  • Taking responsibility of all HR matters and keeping up-to-date with staff HR files.
  • Ensure all emergency procedures are viable and communicated.
  • To be constantly vigilant of security risks and immediately report any suspicious incidents
  • Checking stock levels and ordering supplies.
  • Preparing cash drawers and providing petty cash when required.
  • Helping in any area of the bar/restaurant when circumstances dictate.
  • Attend meetings as required.

Receptionist

Job duties include:

  • Managing the booking process ensuring all relevant details are taken and the customer journey is personalised
  • Make the customers’ stay a memorable experience by providing excellent service, communication and administration
  • Answer the phone, take reservations and deal with any enquiries
  • Be detail oriented to ensure that all booking details and relevant reports are accurate and communicated to other departments.
  • Prepare daily reports as required
  • Manage guest payments, invoices, receipts and reconcile shift transactions
  • Manage comprehensive hand over to following shift.
  • Communicate closely with Housekeeping on room departures, stayovers and arrival rooms for cleaning and opening of sofa beds.
  • Report maintenance items to the maintenance log book.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction at all times.

  • Ensure that guest experience in the bar is smooth, seamless and appropriate, ensure all guests are given a warm and friendly welcome.
  • Ensure all food/garnish is fresh and ready before the service and all beverages are prepared/made according to specification and delivered accordingly.
  • Be able to build and maintain long term relationships with regular guests
  • Be able to recommend and up-sell wine and beverages.
  • Deliver food & beverage service in the Bar area and support both restaurants in the food & drinks delivery if needed.
  • Be able to explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and allergens (if necessary)
  • To continually build products knowledge and bar skills
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Take food and beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons, and using EPOS systems enter these accurately onto till. Collect money for drinks served or transfer to rooms immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of bars, work areas and tables throughout shift.
  • Plan, organize, and control the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar.
  • Order or requisition liquors and supplies.
  • Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.
  • Be an ambassador for the bar and the hotel. Recommend other services (restaurant, rooms) to patrons

-Driving the Iconic Burgh Island Sea Tractor from Island to Mainland across the beach to pick up/drop off arriving and departing guests, as well as public day visitors to the island

– Driving the hotel Land Rover’s from Island to Mainland across the beach to pick up/drop off arriving and departing guests

– Collecting and Delivering Guest luggage to/from hotel rooms

– Collecting Laundry and stock deliveries from the mainland drop off area and bringing to the hotel
