Moonglow - Songs of the 1930's
Thursday 12th November
Step back into the glamour of the 1930s for a rather special night on Burgh Island.
Your stay begins with a Bantham Champagne Afternoon Tea on arrival, followed by a Champagne reception, dinner and an evening of live music in the Grand Ballroom. Singer-songwriter Kate Garner will take to the piano with a sparkling selection of British and American classics from the era, sharing the stories behind some of its most memorable songs.
With one night’s accommodation and breakfast the following morning also included, expect music, dancing and plenty of old-world Burgh Island glamour.

Join us at Burgh Island Hotel for a captivating literary afternoon with award-winning bestselling author Kate Mosse CBE FRSL, in conversation with writer and literary host Lucy Pearson.
Hosted in the elegant Nettlefold Restaurant, guests are welcomed from 1pm, with a traditional Afternoon Tea served at 1.30pm. From 2.30pm to 3.30pm, enjoy an engaging conversation exploring Kate’s remarkable literary career, the inspiration behind her bestselling novels and her passion for storytelling.

The Murder Mystery always takes place on the second night of the break, where guests are invited to step into the story and become part of the intrigue. Live Music
Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening, one of our house bands will entertain you in the Ballroom. You are not obliged to dance, but you may be tempted! During December, January and February, we will also be featuring live bands on Thursday evenings, adding a little extra atmosphere to the winter months. Live piano music will accompany all other evenings.

1920's Couture
To fully immerse yourself in the roaring Twenties experience at Burgh Island, dressing for the occasion certainly adds serious Art Deco glamour to cocktail hour or a romantic dinner in the Grand Ballroom. We’ve partnered up with 1920’s Couture to help our guests fall in love with the most beautifully restored vintage 1920’s attire. 1920’s Couture will be attending select events throughout the year and will be on hand to prepare guests for the fabulous night ahead.
