A Christie Christmas at Burgh Island
Enter the enchanting world of Agatha Christie this festive season with an exclusive experience on 10th December 2024. Join renowned Christie expert Dr. Mark Aldridge for afternoon tea in our Nettlefold restaurant and explore the traditions and mysteries of Christmas in Christie’s novels. From £425 per room for two, including afternoon tea, bed, and breakfast, or join as a non-resident for £65 per person.

A Festive retreat at burgh island

When you arrive on Christmas Eve, our Christmas elves will welcome you with a glass of your favourite tipple, followed by dinner in a restaurant of your choice with the sound of classic Christmas music in the air.
On Christmas day, presents will be placed under the tree and stockings hung in The Nettlefold Restaurant where you will have breakfast. Our famous Christmas lunch will be held in The Grand Ballroom after cocktails and canapes in the Palm Court Bar, followed by a candlelit supper with a selection of delicious platters.
To top off your trip, the Boxing Day itinerary is full of your favourites, including our Christmas quiz and timeless Boxing Day Ball, where guests are asked to dress their best and dance the night away.

Stepping back to the 20's
Escape to our island for an immersive 1920’s experience and delve into plenty of roaring 20’s themed affairs. During the mid-week stay, guests can delight in a splendid Champagne cream tea followed by dinner and tantalising live music in the evening. To enhance the 1920’s atmosphere, guests can hire beautiful authentic attire from Cocoa Deco, including flappers, headpieces and jewellery – perfect for dance lessons on the second day! To wrap up the experience, entertainment can be enjoyed by a live band as well as by singer and ambassador of the Art Deco Society UK, Kate Garner, who will be performing a specially tailored cabaret show at the piano, singing toe tapping tunes she has written about Josephine Baker, Noel Coward and Agatha Christie, (all past guests of Burgh Island!)

For the notable art collectors, enjoy a unique creative experience of a 1:1 artist workshop with the wonderful Emma Carter Bromfield. Live Music
Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night one of our house bands will entertain you in our Ballroom. You are not obliged to dance, but you may be tempted! Live piano music accompanies all other evenings.

Cocoa Deco
To fully immerse yourself in the roaring Twenties experience at Burgh Island, dressing for the occasion certainly adds serious Art Deco glamour to cocktail hour or a romantic dinner in the Grand Ballroom. We’ve partnered up with Cocoa Deco to help our guests fall in love with the most beautifully restored vintage 1920’s attire. Cocoa Deco will be attending select events throughout the year and will be on hand to prepare guests for the fabulous night ahead.
