A unique opportunity has come live with Burgh Island looking for a Sous Chef Pastry to join its brigade. Quality and creativity are second to none to wow all of our customers particularly with the re-launch of the hotel and particularly the revision of all food offerings. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare dishes to the highest standards of quality, safety and consistency
- Ensure recipes are followed to ensure the risk of cross-contamination are kept to a minimum
- Ensure brand standards are followed to ensure consistency of quality
- Work as part of a team in preparation, cooking, garnishing, or presentation of food
- Follow standards and regulations relating to cleanliness, hygiene and safety
- Ensure the chef is informed where food or other supplies need to be ordered
- Check the quantity and quality of received products
- Work with the Head Chef to ensure departmental compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g. COSHH, HAACP, Fire & Food Hygiene)
- Ensure the Head Chef is notified of equipment malfunctions and breakdowns
GENERAL
- To follow Hotels procedures should staff be required to exit the building for any reason
- To ensure staff do not enter any unauthorised areas
- To feed back any matters of concern as soon as possible to the Hotel Manager
- To comply with all relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards
- Live in available, subject to availability
- Fine dining experience essential
- Rosette experience is preferred
