Amy Johnson

A smart cookie with good looks, Amy moved to London after graduating from Sheffield University. She began flying in 1928 and aviation was her passion. At first titillated by the thought of a woman aviator, the public soon took her seriously when, after just 2 years‘ training, Amy became the first woman to fly solo the 11,000 miles from Britain to Australia.
